The first Hertford Charity Run was held in 2008 to raise money for the Mayor of Hertford's Appeal Fund. Despite a covering of snow on race day it proved very popular. It had been many years since Hertford had hosted a running event and the approximate 10k distance appealed to both serious and fun runners.
Starting off road adjacent to Hertford Town FC, the run follows the pretty Cole Green Way footpath, leaving it to take in the villages of Hertingfordbury, Staines Green and Letty Green before returning to Hertford to finish in front of the imposing entrance to County Hall.
Due to the width of the footpath entries are limited to 500.
